Tumblethorn wants to cross the creek on the stones and misses the second one. The splash is honest. The bow that follows is enormous, as if the tumble were the trick. Friends clap. Tumblethorn bows again, smaller, and then actually crosses. The second crossing is dry. The first bow was the rehearsal.
